Accomadation Monacraigh Cork:

On October 1st. 2003 Muintir Mhuire began as a Community in Monacraigh Cottage, this house was loaned to the community by another charity; it had been unoccupied for about eight years. For over three and a half years as well as being the main community house it has also served as a base, an office and for the facilitation of the Life in the Spirit seminars. The house also facilitated our prayer meetings on Monday and Thursday evenings. Each day the community celebrated Holy Mass, Prayed and spent time in adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

It was during our time here, in 2004 that we bought our property at Ballybutler about two kilometers from Monacraigh Cottage and began the work of renovating the old farmhouse and outbuildings. This work was mainly internal but did require new drainage work around the outside of the farmhouse.

Early in 2005 we surveyed the site and began to draw up a new and more comprehensive plan for the whole property which is approximately 6 acres. These plans were submitted to the planning authority in 2005 and full planning permission was granted early in 2006.

In April 2005 Muintir Mhuire purchased a house in Medjugorje and the community continued to use Monacraigh Cottage as its main base while having members there and also in Medjugorje. All who have been in the community have helped with its work at all three locations. All three locations bear witness to the physical work of the members of the community and the lives of the members themselves bear witness to the spiritual growth and healing that continues daily.

At the end of February 2007 we moved out of Monacraigh Cottage. The owners have since put that property up for sale.
